York SCUBA Diving | Stingray Divers - a York diving club

We offer SCUBA trips and SCUBA training all year round. We welcome new starters <i>and</i> qualified divers from all diving agencies (BSAC, PADI, NAUI, SAA, SSAC etc.). We aim to organise excellent SCUBA diving in the UK and abroad all year round.<br><br> Autumn/Winter is the ideal time to learn SCUBA diving - Get into a nice warm swimming pool and be ready to emerge as a fully qualified diver for the new diving season in springtime!<br><br> For those who need SCUBA training we offer the full range of BSAC diving qualifications.<br><br> We take pride in the quality and safety of our dive leadership and SCUBA instruction.<br><br> <p> If you already have a diving qualification then going diving is easy. Whether you trained with BSAC or elsewhere, you are welcome. If you qualified through another agency (PADI, NAUI, SAA, SSAC etc.) there is a simple <a href="./crossover.html">cross-over</a> arrangement, which will give you an equivalent BSAC diving grade. Finally, look <a href="./training.html">here</a> to see further training we can offer if you are already qualified.<p> If you are new to diving and would like to try SCUBA we offer a <a href="trydive.html">Try Dive</a> scheme where you can have a go at SCUBA in our swimming pool.<p> If you are sure you want to join, then you begin with the <strong>Ocean Diver</strong> course. As an <strong>Ocean Diver</strong> you will be able to dive to depths of up to 20metres with a qualified buddy. Details of the <strong>Ocean Diver</strong> course can be found <a href="./oceandiver.html">here</a>. <h3>Club Meetings</h3> Our Pool sessions are on Thursdays, 5:30pm to 7:30pm at Archbishop Holgate Swimming Pool in York. (In the grounds of Archbishop Holgate School). <p> 2007 Autumn Sessions - 11th October to 13th December, inclusive. 2008 Spring Sessions - 10th January to 13th March, inclusive.<br> 2008 Summer Sessions - 24th April to 26th June, inclusive.<br> <p> Afterwards we can usually be found in the Black Bull Pub (Adjacent to Archbishop Holgate's on Hull Road, York) from about 8pm. Always email or ring the club before trying to find us in the pub, sometimes we are away diving and sometimes we are at York University, when we use the lecture rooms there. <h3>Membership</h3> The Stingray Divers membership includes people with a variety of backgrounds, ages and diving experience.
